Trump Announces Three-Day Pause on 50% Canadian Tariffs

Trump Announces Three-Day Pause on 50% Canadian Tariffs

President Donald Trump said the United States and Canada had reached a deal.

He paused new 50% taxes on Canadian goods for three days.

The pause was announced after Trump spoke with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

Canada had not immediately confirmed the deal.

The proposed tariffs could have affected about $20 billion worth of goods.

Businesses warned that the tariffs could cause job losses and closures.

The two countries were still discussing vehicle tariffs and how to count parts made in North America.

Trump also said the Keystone XL Pipeline might be revived, but gave no details.
