Adhikari Accuses Trinamool Regime of Twisting Bengali Syllabus

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari criticised the state’s earlier school syllabus.

He said the previous Trinamool Congress government changed Bengali words for political reasons.

He gave “Amma” and “Asman” as examples instead of “Ma” and “Akash.”

He said this could divide children who speak Bengali.

Adhikari also said important people such as Vidyasagar and Swami Vivekananda were not given enough attention.

He criticised a lesson about the Singur movement, which opposed Tata Motors’ project there.

He said the syllabus did not properly discuss some freedom fighters, including Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.

He also blamed the earlier Left Front government for harming education.

These statements were made at an event organised by Vivekananda Vidya Vikas Parishad.
