Odisha Authorities Seize Assets in Two Separate Cases
In Odisha, authorities have seized assets in two different cases.
First, they raided the properties of a junior accountant named Rabindra Kumar Barik and found valuable items like buildings, gold, and money.
He has been working for about 30 years and currently earns a salary.
The vigilance team suspects that he might have more assets than he should, given his salary.
In another case, a man named Rama Narayan Bal was arrested for cheating people out of crores of rupees.
The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) seized his properties, including vehicles and mobile phones.
Bal was found to have cheated more than 20 crore from nine people.
Both cases are under investigation.
Odisha Vigilance raided properties linked to junior accountant Rabindra Kumar Barik, uncovering assets worth crores, including four buildings, a market complex, and bank deposits of Rs 43.81 lakh.
Additional items found in Barik's raid include 175 grams of gold, a four-wheeler, two motorcycles, cash, and household articles.
Barik has been a junior accountant for about three decades, currently posted in Sundargarh, with an initial salary of Rs 5,400 per month.
The EOW seized assets from Rama Narayan Bal, including 10 vehicles, 144 mobile phones, and sound systems, after he was arrested for cheating people out of over 20 crore.
