Purandar Airport Land Survey Begins Amidst Farmer Consents
Farmers in Purandar, Pune, are allowing a land survey for the new airport.
Many initially protested, but now most have agreed.
The government reduced the amount of land needed, and offered a deal where farmers get a share of developed land near the airport if they agree.
The local leader also signed the consent form, leading the remaining farmers to do the same.
The government and farmers negotiated the terms.
The farmers' biggest concerns were losing their land and not benefiting from the airport, but the new plans seem to address those issues.

94% of farmers have provided consent for land acquisition.
The acquisition area was reduced from 7,000 to 3,000 acres.
