Indonesia Repatriates Two Dutch Drug Convicts
Indonesia has decided to send two Dutch men, Siegfried Mets and Ali Tokman, back to the Netherlands.
Both men were convicted of drug offenses and were serving long prison sentences.
Mets was sentenced to death in 2008 for smuggling ecstasy pills, while Tokman was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2015 for smuggling MDMA.
The Indonesian government agreed to let them go home because of a special deal with the Dutch government.
The men are in good health, although Mets had a recent injury and Tokman has high blood pressure.
They will leave Indonesia on December 8 and fly to Amsterdam.
It is not clear if they will have to serve more time in prison when they get back to the Netherlands.
