Alleged ₹400-Cr Demonetised Cash Heist Cover-Up
A man named Sandeep Patil says that a huge amount of old currency notes, worth ₹400 crore, was stolen near the border of Maharashtra and Karnataka.
He claims that the police knew about this theft but are trying to hide it because of political pressure.
The police say they are still investigating and that the accused people they have caught say they didn't see any cash.
There is some evidence, like photos and recordings, that shows the theft might have happened, but the police are not sure yet.
The man who made the complaint says he is being threatened not to talk about what he knows.
Complainant Sandeep Patil alleges a ₹400-crore demonetised currency heist and a cover-up by the SIT.
Patil claims political pressure is influencing the investigation and that he has been threatened.
Accused Jayesh Kadam initially admitted to the heist but later denied it, alleging forged statements.
Evidence including audio and video recordings contradicts the accused's revised statements.
SIT chief Aditya Mirkhelkar states the investigation is ongoing and based on the accused's statements.
