NGT Extends Deadline for ACC Cement Pollution Report
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has given a joint committee four more weeks to submit a report about air pollution from an ACC Cement plant in Barmana, Himachal Pradesh.
A man named Kashmir Singh complained about the pollution.
The committee said they were delayed because they didn't get all the reports on time.
The NGT also allowed one member, Dr. Narender Sharma, to submit his report separately.
Earlier, the Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board (HPSPCB) said they plan to use money from the cement company to improve the environment.
They want to build things like better water systems and waste management.
The cement company said they are following the committee's advice to keep the air clean.
The next hearing is in February 2026.
NGT grants four-week extension to joint committee for submitting report on ACC Cement plant's alleged air pollution.
Complaint filed by Kashmir Singh alleging air pollution due to ACC Cement plant operations in Barmana.
Joint committee delayed report submission due to late receipt of technical expert report and email from Dr. Narender Sharma.
HPSPCB proposed using environmental compensation funds for water resource development and solid waste management.
ACC Cement Ltd deposited Rs 20 lakh each with CPCB and HPSPCB as environmental compensation.
