Governor Calls RTI Act the Heartbeat of Democracy

The Right to Information Act lets people ask the government for information.

Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said this helps make government work more openly and responsibly.

He said useful information should be shared before people have to ask for it.

It should be available in languages people understand, including Telugu.

He also said everyone, including rural residents and people with disabilities, should be able to access it.

The Telangana Information Commission said it handled 21,000 cases in 15 months.

At the event, the Governor released a newsletter and recognized officials and departments.
