Telangana AYUSH Strike Reaches 18th Day With Warangal Rally
AYUSH medical students and doctors in Telangana are on strike.
They want the same stipend, or training pay, as allopathy house surgeons.
Their strike has lasted 18 days.
On Friday, they held a large march in Warangal.
The march started at Veyyi Stambhala Temple and ended at the Collectorate.
The protesters say they do similar work to allopathy house surgeons.
They believe earlier promised increases were not enough.
The group is asking the government to issue an order approving equal stipends.
The protesters say their movement is peaceful and is only about receiving what they believe they are owed.
