Telangana HC Grants Interim Protection in Land-Use Dispute
The Telangana High Court has temporarily protected some landowners in Dulapally village.
The government had taken back earlier permissions that allowed changing land use from recreational to residential.
The landowners said they had built houses and got approvals, so the court said the government can't take any action against their properties until the next hearing on July 27.
The government said the land might be within the full tank level of a nearby lake, but the court wants to wait for more information.
Meanwhile, the court also refused to give back security to a former minister and allowed a political party to hold a meeting.
Telangana High Court granted interim protection to landowners in Dulapally village challenging government orders revoking land-use conversion permissions.
Government orders GO Ms. No. 186 and GO Ms. No. 187 revoked earlier permissions for land-use conversion from recreational to residential.
Landowners argued they had legally acquired properties and obtained necessary approvals before the revocation.
Government stated the land falls within the full tank level of Foxsagar and an inquiry is underway.
High Court directed the government not to take any coercive action against the petitioners' properties until the next hearing on July 27.
