Vietnam Floods: Death Toll Reaches 35, Emergency Funds Allocated
A lot of rain has caused terrible floods in Vietnam, especially in the middle part of the country.
Sadly, 35 people have died, and 5 are still missing.
Many homes are underwater, and farms have been ruined, with lots of crops and animals lost.
The government is sending money to help four cities and provinces recover.
In the north of Vietnam, there were also flash floods and landslides that caused 8 deaths.
Some villages are cut off, and helpers are searching for missing people.
These floods happened after a big storm called Typhoon Wipha recently hit the coast.
The death toll from floods in central Vietnam has risen to 35, with 5 people missing and 60 injured.
Over 16,500 houses are inundated and 361 are damaged, along with significant losses to crops and livestock.
Vietnam's government has allocated an emergency relief fund of approximately $17.93 million USD for affected central provinces.
In northern Vietnam's Dien Bien province, separate flash floods and landslides caused 8 deaths earlier in August.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing in affected areas, with some villages isolated due to damaged traffic infrastructure.
