Odisha Announces New NACs, Upgrades, and Urban Initiatives
The government of Odisha is creating new local governments called NACs (Notified Area Councils) and upgrading some existing ones to municipalities.
This means more areas will have their own local government to provide services.
The Chief Minister also launched a new helpline called 'Sahar Saathi' where citizens can report issues.
He is also launching a transport card called 'National Common Mobility Card' that will allow citizens to pay for public transportation.
The government is providing funds for repairs and improvements, including pothole-free roads by 2026.
The Sahayog program, which helps deliver government services, will be expanded.
Odisha will form 16 new NACs and upgrade 7 existing NACs to municipalities.
The Chief Minister instructed ULBs to make roads pothole-free by April 2026.
New NACs will be in various districts, including Bolangir, Bargarh, Cuttack, and others.
The government is launching urban development initiatives, including the expansion of the 'Sahayog' program.
A 24x7 toll-free helpline, 'Sahar Saathi' (1929), has been launched for citizens.
