India Inc's cash reserves grow, capex plans remain muted
Indian companies have been saving more money lately.
They now have a big pile of cash that's about 5% of all their things.
This is more than they had in 2017 and 2020, but still less than companies in the US and around the world.
Even though they have more cash, they're not spending much on big projects.
It's like they're saving more in their piggy bank, but not using it to build new things.
Indian companies' cash reserves have grown to 5% of total assets.
This is an increase from 3.5% in 2017 and 4% in 2020.
However, these levels are still below US and global medians.
US corporate cash holdings are at 9% of total assets.
Global corporate cash holdings are at 11% of total assets.
