Maharashtra Reduces Parivahan Bhavan Height to Four Floors
The Maharashtra government had planned a big 16‑storey building for its transport offices in Mumbai’s Worli area.
The Navy said the building would be too tall because it’s close to a naval base, so the government had to make it smaller.
They now plan a building with a ground floor, two podiums, and four upper floors.
The new design was approved by the Transport Department and will cost about 67.83 crore rupees.
The Public Works Department will build it, hoping to bring all transport offices together and make services easier for people.
Original plan: 16‑storey high‑tech headquarters for the Transport Commissionerate in Worli.
Navy and Ministry of Defence imposed height restrictions due to proximity to INS Trata.
Project scaled down to a ground floor, two podiums, and four upper floors.
Government Resolution approved the revised design and a Rs 67.83 crore budget.
Public Works Department will execute construction to consolidate offices and improve services.
