Driverless Robotaxis Launch in UAE
Imagine a taxi that drives itself without a driver or a steering wheel!
This is now happening in the UAE.
A company called WeRide and Uber have teamed up to launch these special cars called robotaxis.
They can drive all by themselves in certain areas.
You can book them just like a regular Uber ride using the app.
The cars have a tablet inside to control the ride.
They can detect traffic, people, and signals just like a human driver.
Right now, they are only available in some parts of Abu Dhabi, but soon they will be in Dubai and other places too.
The ride costs between AED 27 and AED 34.

WeRide and Uber have launched Level 4 fully driverless robotaxis in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The service is currently in a trial phase with limited availability.
Booking is done through the Uber app by selecting the 'Autonomous' option.
The fare for a ride ranges between AED 27 and AED 34.
A fully driverless commercial rollout is expected in Dubai in early 2026.
