LT Foods to Invest in Karnataka for Regional Rice
LT Foods is building a new factory in Karnataka, India, to make special kinds of rice like Sona Masoori and Kolam.
They are spending ₹6 crore on this project.
The factory will be able to make 30,000 metric tonnes of rice every year.
The company thinks this will help them make better rice and sell more in South India and other places.
They hope to start making rice there by February next year, but they need to get some permissions first.
Karnataka is a good place for this because it makes and eats a lot of this kind of rice.
LT Foods Ltd is setting up a new manufacturing facility in Raichur, Karnataka, for regional rice varieties like Sona Masoori and Kolam.
The company will invest ₹6 crore, funded through internal accruals.
The facility will have an initial production capacity of 30,000 metric tonnes per annum.
Commercial production is expected to commence around February 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
Karnataka is a significant producer and consumer of premium non-Basmati rice, making it a strategic location for the new facility.
