Rajasthan to Conduct First Digital Census with Self-Enumeration
Rajasthan is gearing up for its first digital census!
This means they'll count everyone using new digital methods.
People can fill out the information themselves online, or government workers will visit homes to help.
The census will happen in two parts.
First, they'll list all the houses in 2026.
Then, they'll count the people in 2027.
This helps the government plan for things like schools and hospitals.
Because of changes in the state's districts and towns, the census needs to be updated to include this new data.
Lots of people will be working on this – about 150,000 people will go door-to-door to collect the data!
Rajasthan is set to conduct its first-ever digital census.
Citizens can participate through a self-enumeration web portal.
The census will take place in two phases: house listing (2026) and population counting (2027).
The state has seen administrative changes since 2011, increasing districts, tehsils, and towns.
Around 150,000 enumerators and 30,000-40,000 supervisors/officers will be involved.
