1,951 GPS Interference Issues Reported in 2 Years

The government has reported that there have been 1,951 problems with airplane GPS systems over the past two years.

These problems, called GPS spoofing and interference, have happened at several big airports in India.

The government started keeping track of these issues after a warning was given in November 2023.

GPS spoofing means someone is trying to trick the GPS system by sending false signals.

The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) is also involved in looking into this problem.

The government has made special rules to report these problems quickly, especially around Delhi airport.

They are working on ways to prevent and fix these issues to keep air travel safe.
