Cities Prepare for Safe New Year Celebrations
The Karnataka government and the Hotel and Restaurant Association (Western India) (HRAWI) are making special plans for New Year's Eve.
In Karnataka, they will help people who are very drunk by taking them to rest places and then dropping them home.
This is to keep everyone safe.
The government has set up 15 rest places and will have over 20,000 police officers on duty.
They are also using special cameras and technology to watch over the crowds.
The police will be extra careful to stop people from driving after drinking too much.
In Mumbai, HRAWI has asked hotels, restaurants, and bars to follow strict rules.
They must not serve alcohol to minors or people who are already drunk.
They also want to make sure people use safe ways to go home, like taxis or designated drivers.
In Kolkata, the police are also preparing for a big crowd on New Year's Eve.
They will have 6,500 police officers to manage the crowds and keep everyone safe.
They will use drones and cameras to watch the streets, especially in busy areas like Park Street.
The goal is to make sure everyone has a safe and happy New Year's celebration.
