Waqf Land Encroachment Sparks Legal Action in Telangana
A big piece of land owned by a holy place in Telangana is being taken over by people who are building houses on it without permission.
The Waqf Board, which looks after the land, said that some people are selling parts of it to buyers who might not know it is owned by the holy place.
Police have started a case and are looking into who is doing this.
The people who own the land want a full investigation and to stop more illegal building.
They are worried that people who buy the land might later have legal problems because they don't know it was taken illegally.
Telangana State Waqf Board filed a complaint over illegal sale and encroachment of its 2,132‑acre Dargah Hazrath Baba Sharfuddin property in Mamidipally.
Police registered an FIR after finding 100 square yards of land illegally occupied and construction underway on Survey No.96.
Inspector Mohd Khader Mohiuddin named suspects Zeeshan, Rafeeq Shaik, and Farooq as involved in unauthorized plots and sales.
Activists claim over 50 acres have been carved out and sold to economically weaker sections, creating legal risks for buyers.
Investigation is ongoing, with demands for a comprehensive inquiry and prevention of further registrations.
