Students in Rajasthan are upset because they want to vote for their own student leaders at their colleges and universities.

These leaders are chosen in something called student union elections.

One student leader named Shubham Revaad stopped eating for 15 whole days to show how much this mattered to him.

Some important leaders from the Congress party visited him in the hospital and promised to help.

After that promise, Shubham ended his fast.

The next day, many students gathered at Rajasthan University to continue the protest.

Some tried to push past police barriers, and there were small scuffles, with police holding some students for a short time.

The students have warned that if the government does not agree, they will march to the state assembly on August 20, 2026.

Similar protests were also held in other cities like Ajmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur.
