England Names Stephen Fleming as New Test Coach
England’s cricket team is getting a new coach.
The new coach is Stephen Fleming, who used to play for New Zealand.
Fast bowler Ollie Robinson says he has heard good things about him and is excited.
England will play Pakistan in August, and they want to win all three games to show the new coach is good.
Marcus Trescothick will coach the team for the Pakistan games until Fleming starts.
This change comes after the team’s captain Ben Stokes retired and the previous coach was fired.
England’s Test coach role will be filled by former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming after Brendon McCullum’s dismissal.
Fast bowler Ollie Robinson welcomed the appointment, saying he has heard good things about Fleming and is excited for a new era.
Robinson, who is working on fitness to return for the August 19 Pakistan series, urged the team to win 3‑0 to prove the new coaching change.
Interim coach Marcus Trescothick will lead the side for the Pakistan series until Fleming takes over.
England’s coaching changes follow the retirement of captain Ben Stokes and the end of the previous coaching cycle.
