Bankipur MLA Prashant Kishor Declares Nearly ₹198 Crore Net Worth
A man named Prashant Kishor just won an election for the very first time.
He is the leader of a political party called the Jan Suraaj Party.
He is now a member of the Bihar state assembly from a place called Bankipur.
In India, people who contest elections must share details about their money.
Prashant Kishor told everyone that his family owns nearly 198 crore rupees.
That amount of money is so huge that it is hard for most people to imagine.
His money is kept in many different places, like bank deposits, shares of companies, buildings, and gold.
His wife also owns expensive gold and silver jewellery.
Prashant Kishor used to help other leaders win their elections, and now, for the first time, he won an election himself.
Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor, newly elected MLA from Bankipur, declared a family net worth of about ₹198 crore in his bypoll nomination affidavit.
He declared movable family assets of nearly ₹122 crore — including his wife Jahanvi Das's ₹89.51 crore — and immovable assets of ₹86.29 crore.
His wife Jahanvi Das holds shares worth ₹95.26 crore in Vedhas Ventures Private Limited, while Kishor has ₹7.36 crore in fixed deposits at HDFC Bank.
Kishor owns shares in Bharti Airtel and Indian Overseas Bank plus two life insurance policies, and his wife has 475 grams of gold and 200 grams of silver.
The former election strategist — who helped the BJP, JD(U) and other parties — won his first election after being expelled from the JD(U) by Nitish Kumar in 2020.
