Oilers Use Hometown Ice for Stanley Cup Final Rink
The Edmonton Oilers are playing in the Stanley Cup Final, and they've done something special with the ice they're skating on.
They've mixed in ice from the hometown rinks of their players.
This means pieces of ice from places like Newmarket, Hamilton, and Vancouver are now part of the ice at Rogers Place.
It's like bringing a piece of home to the big game, honoring where the players started playing hockey, and reminding everyone of their journey to get here.
The Edmonton Oilers incorporated ice from their players' hometown rinks into the Stanley Cup Final ice.
Ice was collected from six different rinks across Canada.
This includes rinks from Newmarket, Hamilton, Burnaby, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Winnipeg.
The initiative is part of a 'This Is Our Ice' campaign.
The effort aims to celebrate the players' roots and the beginning of their hockey journeys.
