Man wins Rs 35,000 after two-year wait for gold bangles

Man wins Rs 35,000 after two-year wait for gold bangles

A man in India gave his two old gold bracelets to a jewellery shop.

He wanted the shop to melt the gold and make him a new, bigger pair.

The shop promised to finish the work in two months.

But two years went by and the man still did not get his bracelets back.

So he went to a special consumer court that helps people treated unfairly by shops.

The shop said it never received the gold, but the man had a receipt.

The court believed the man and told the shop to return his 32 grams of gold.

The shop also has to pay him Rs 25,000 for the trouble and Rs 10,000 for court costs.

The court said keeping someone's gold without giving it back is a very unfair thing to do.

The shop must give the gold back within 60 days.
