NASA Conducts First Medical Evacuation
Four astronauts from the International Space Station (ISS) returned to Earth earlier than planned because one of them had a health problem.
They landed safely in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego.
The astronauts had spent about five months in space and did many science experiments.
NASA said the astronaut who was sick is doing fine, but they didn't share details about the health issue.
The ISS is a big space lab where astronauts from different countries work together.
It will be retired after 2030.
NASA is working to send a new crew to the ISS soon.
NASA conducted its first-ever medical evacuation, bringing an ailing astronaut and three crewmates back to Earth early.
The crew splashed down safely in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego, less than 11 hours after departing the ISS.
The astronauts were taken to a hospital for overnight evaluation, and the affected astronaut is in good spirits.
The mission was cut short after 167 days, leaving the ISS with a reduced crew of one American and two Russians.
NASA is advancing the launch of a replacement crew, scheduled for mid-February, and the affected astronaut will undergo detailed medical examinations.
