JGU Launches American Studies Institute with US$5 Million Endowment
Imagine a new school department dedicated to studying America!
A university in India, JGU, has just created a special institute called MJIAS to do just that.
It's like a big gift of money, $5 million, from a generous person named Ms. Asha Jadeja Motwani.
This new institute is named after a famous computer scientist who helped create Google.
The institute will research and teach about America: its politics, culture, and how it works.
They'll have classes, events, and bring people from the US and India together.
It's all about understanding America better and making the relationship between India and America stronger.
O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) established the Motwani Jadeja Institute for American Studies (MJIAS).
The institute is supported by a US$5 million endowment from Ms. Asha Jadeja Motwani.
It is named in honour of the late Professor Rajeev Motwani, a Stanford University computer scientist.
MJIAS aims to become a global center for research and policy engagement on the United States.
The institute will launch programs like the Rajeev Motwani Memorial Lecture and a Master’s Programme.
