Row at Jadavpur University over Maoist Tribute
A students' group called the Revolutionary Students’ Front (RSF) held a conference at Jadavpur University in Kolkata.
During the conference, they symbolically named the university and its auditorium after three Maoist leaders who were killed by security forces.
The leaders were Madvi Hidma, Koteswar Rao, and Basavaraju.
The RSF said they were honoring these leaders because they worked for the poor and sacrificed their lives.
Some people at the university and the police are watching the situation, but the university said they didn't know this would happen and gave permission for the conference as usual.
The RSF said they are fighting for the rights of farmers and tribal people and will continue to do so.
