Husband Allegedly Stabs Wife, Attempts Suicide at Delhi Hotel

Police say a man named Prakash and his wife Shivani met at a hotel in Delhi.

They had been married for about six months.

Reports differ slightly about how long they lived together after the wedding, but both say they had mostly been living apart.

Police allege that the couple argued about a family matter during the night.

They say Prakash stabbed Shivani with a knife.

He then allegedly took poison or otherwise tried to end his life.

Hotel workers found both people unconscious the next morning.

Shivani was declared dead at a hospital, while Prakash was treated and later arrested.

Police are checking evidence, CCTV footage, and witness accounts to understand what happened.
