Parliament Resumes Monsoon Session Amid Opposition Protests
The Indian Parliament is starting its third week of the Monsoon Session on Monday.
The government plans to bring up new laws about the Indian Statistical Institute and banks in the lower house, and a law for small businesses in the upper house.
Some opposition members are upset about things like leaked exam papers, how police handled a protest at Jantar Mantar, and a theft case involving a Ram Mandir donation.
They want the Parliament to stop and talk about these problems.
Even with the protests, the Parliament has already passed two important laws about national honor and exam cheating.
The session is expected to have more arguments and the government will try to keep moving its bills forward.
Parliament resumes third week of Monsoon Session on Monday.
Government will introduce Indian Statistical Institute Bill, 2026 and Bankers’ Books Evidence Bill, 2026 in Lok Sabha.
Rajya Sabha will introduce Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
Opposition protests focus on paper leaks, police action at Jantar Mantar, and Ram Mandir donation theft.
Parliament previously cleared Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026 and Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026.
