VCDC Restructuring Planned in BTC Within Months, Regardless of Election
The Chief Minister of Assam has announced plans to change how Village Council Development Committees (VCDCs) in the BTC (Bodoland Territorial Council) work.
This change will happen soon, no matter which party wins the upcoming elections.
The plan is based on a law passed by the national government.
The Chief Minister has said that the current VCDCs are a source of corruption.
Despite a lot of money being given to the BTC, roads and other things are still in bad shape, and some plans haven't been put into action yet.
This restructuring is supposed to fix these problems and make things better.
The restructuring of VCDCs in BTC will occur within 2-3 months.
This restructuring will happen regardless of the outcome of the BTC elections.
The legal basis for the changes is the 125th Constitutional Amendment.
The Chief Minister has criticized VCDCs as a source of corruption.
Concerns exist about the effective use of the large budget allocated to BTC.
