ED Summons IAS Officer After Nine-Hour Bengaluru Home Search

The Enforcement Directorate, or ED, is investigating possible cheating and bribery in government job recruitment.

It searched the Bengaluru home of IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar for nearly nine hours.

The investigation involves the recruitment of veterinary officers through the Karnataka Public Service Commission.

Candidates were allegedly asked to pay large sums of money to get appointments.

Kumar was not at home because he had reportedly travelled to Uttar Pradesh while his father was unwell.

Officials said he took his laptop, phone and other electronic devices with him.

The ED found a diary, some records, bank statements and recruitment-related documents.

The agency left a notice asking Kumar to come for questioning on Tuesday.

One report said he was currently untraceable, while officials confirmed the notice specified when and where he should appear.
