iPhone 18 Pro Max Keeps Design, Apple Delays Redesign Until 2027
Apple’s newest iPhone, the 18 Pro Max, looks almost the same as last year’s model.
The company is keeping the big design change for the iPhone’s 20th anniversary in 2027, just like it did for the 10th anniversary in 2017.
In the meantime, the phone still has new inside parts, like a faster chip and a better camera.
Some experts worry that announcing a huge redesign two years ahead might make people wait too long to upgrade.
Others think people might buy cheaper phones now and wait for the next big one.
iPhone 18 Pro Max will retain a design similar to the previous year, with only modest visual changes.
Apple plans to hold its next major redesign for the iPhone’s 20th anniversary in September 2027, following the 2017 pattern.
The 2025–2027 roadmap includes the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone Air, a foldable iPhone in 2026, and a 20th‑anniversary iPhone with a full‑glass, quad‑curved display and new camera tech.
The 18 Pro Max still introduces significant internal upgrades: the A20 Pro chip, variable‑aperture camera, and Apple’s first high‑end in‑house modem.
Some analysts warn that announcing a radical redesign two years ahead could extend the upgrade cycle and that consumers might opt for cheaper models now and wait.
