Southern Railway Inspects Electrification on New Karaikal-Peralam Line
Imagine a new train track being built between two towns.
Before trains can run, the railway engineers have to make sure everything is safe.
The top electrical engineer checked the wires that give power to the trains on this new track.
He looked closely at how the wires were set up, and made sure everything was perfect.
He found a few small things that needed fixing.
After that, they tested how fast a train could go on the track.
The engineers want to make sure everything is working correctly and safely before letting passengers ride the trains.
This inspection is important because it makes sure the trains are safe to ride on.
Southern Railway's Principal Chief Electrical Engineer inspected the new Karaikal-Peralam broad gauge line.
The inspection covered overhead electrification works across the 23.5-km section.
The officer identified minor deficiencies and conveyed them for correction.
A speed trial run was conducted at 100 kmph from Peralam to Karaikal.
The inspection precedes the mandatory inspection by the Commissioner of Railway Safety.
