High Court Demands State Explain CBI Probe in KPSC Scam
The Karnataka High Court told the state government to explain why it should not let the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) look into a big corruption case at the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC).
The court said the state has one week to say why it thinks a CBI probe is not needed.
It also wants all the evidence collected so far.
The case is about how people were hired for jobs, and some say the process was unfair.
The KPSC is in trouble because the governor suspended its chairman, who is accused of helping his daughters get jobs illegally.
Karnataka High Court directed state to explain why CBI should not investigate KPSC recruitment scam.
Court cited petitioners' allegations of large-scale corruption in KPSC selection process.
State given one week to file objections; all investigation material to be submitted.
KPSC turmoil intensified after Governor suspended Chairman Shivashankarappa S Sahukar on July 13.
Allegations claim Chairman facilitated illegal selection of his daughters as Industrial Extension Officers.
