Congress Welcomes Khammam Corporators Amid Poll Prep
Eight people who were part of the BRS party in Khammam decided to join the Congress party.
This happened in Hyderabad, and the Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, welcomed them.
The Congress party is feeling very confident because they did well in recent elections, like the gram panchayat elections where they won a lot of seats.
They are now preparing for the upcoming municipal elections in February.
The party is also planning to protest against a new law that might replace the MGNREGA scheme.
Additionally, a new leader, Enagala Venkatram Reddy, took charge of the Hanamkonda District Congress Committee and promised to work hard for the people.
Eight BRS corporators from Khammam, including Dhaniyala Radha, Thota Uma Rani, and Rudragani Sridevi, joined the Congress party.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy welcomed them at his residence in Hyderabad.
The Congress party is confident about sweeping the upcoming municipal elections in February, citing recent electoral successes.
The party claims a significant increase in vote share from 39.5% in the 2023 Assembly elections to 66% in the 2025 Gram Panchayat elections.
The Congress is preparing for the municipal elections and planning a nationwide protest against the proposed replacement of the MGNREGA scheme.
