Chamoli tunnel: two more bodies found, death toll reaches 10
Workers were digging a very long tunnel inside a mountain in a place called Uttarakhand, in India.
The tunnel was for a big power project that makes electricity from river water.
Suddenly, rocks and mud slid down and filled the tunnel with dirt and water.
Twenty-two workers got stuck inside the dark, wet tunnel.
Rescue teams, including soldiers and special disaster helpers, worked for days to reach them.
Twelve workers were brought out alive, but they were hurt.
Sadly, ten workers did not survive.
Rescue workers found the last two missing workers and then ended the search.
Nearby, workers stopped work at another tunnel as a safety step because water started leaking there.
Everyone is sad about the workers who lost their lives.
Bodies of two more workers were recovered from the Chamoli tunnel, bringing the death toll to 10.
A landslide on the evening of August 13 flooded the under-construction tunnel of THDC's Vishnugad-Pipalkoti hydroelectric project with debris and water.
Of the 22 workers trapped in the three-kilometre tunnel, 12 were rescued with injuries.
The six-day search and rescue operation by the SDRF, NDRF, ITBP, Army and police has concluded.
The recovered workers were identified as Lukas Topno from Khunti district, Jharkhand, and Chetan Poyam from Chhattisgarh.
