Workers were digging a very long tunnel inside a mountain in a place called Uttarakhand, in India.

The tunnel was for a big power project that makes electricity from river water.

Suddenly, rocks and mud slid down and filled the tunnel with dirt and water.

Twenty-two workers got stuck inside the dark, wet tunnel.

Rescue teams, including soldiers and special disaster helpers, worked for days to reach them.

Twelve workers were brought out alive, but they were hurt.

Sadly, ten workers did not survive.

Rescue workers found the last two missing workers and then ended the search.

Nearby, workers stopped work at another tunnel as a safety step because water started leaking there.
