ISRO to Launch EOS-N1 Satellite on January 12, 2026
ISRO is going to launch a special satellite called EOS-N1 on January 12, 2026.
This satellite will help India take better pictures of the Earth to study farms, cities, and the environment.
The satellite was built with help from Thailand and the United Kingdom.
The satellite will be sent into space using a rocket called PSLV-C62.
Along with EOS-N1, there will be 14 other small satellites from different countries.
The rocket will also test a small space vehicle called KID, which will come back to Earth and land in the South Pacific Ocean.
This is the first mission of 2026 for ISRO and the 64th flight of the PSLV rocket.
The PSLV has been used for many important missions before, like going to the Moon and Mars.
The mission will take more than two hours after the rocket takes off.
ISRO will launch the EOS-N1 Earth Observation Satellite on January 12, 2026, at 10:17 IST from Sriharikota.
The satellite, built jointly by Thailand and the United Kingdom, will enhance India's remote sensing capabilities in agriculture, urban mapping, and environmental monitoring.
PSLV-C62 will carry EOS-N1 and 14 co-passenger satellites, making it a significant multi-satellite deployment.
The mission will demonstrate the KID (Kestrel Initial Technology Demonstrator) from a Spanish startup, which will re-enter the Earth's atmosphere and splash down in the South Pacific Ocean.
This is the 64th flight of the PSLV rocket and the first mission of 2026 for ISRO.
