Congress Invites Nitish Kumar Back to Bihar Opposition Alliance
Some opposition leaders in Bihar have asked Nitish Kumar to return to their alliance, called the Mahagathbandhan.
Congress leader Akhilesh Prasad Singh said Nitish follows socialist ideas.
Singh also said Nitish might feel uncomfortable with the BJP’s plans, including the Uniform Civil Code.
Nitish has not been reported as accepting the invitation.
Instead, he took part in a JD(U) programme for lawmakers.
The programme taught new legislators about making laws, budgets and their responsibilities.
JD(U) leaders asked lawmakers to stay connected with people in their constituencies.
They also praised the party’s future plans and public-service work.
Congress leader Akhilesh Prasad Singh invited JD(U) president Nitish Kumar to rejoin Bihar’s Mahagathbandhan.
The invitation followed Amit Shah’s announcement that the Uniform Civil Code would be implemented in BJP- and NDA-ruled states.
Singh said Nitish’s socialist ideology made the opposition alliance his natural political home and suggested he may leave the NDA.
Nitish Kumar inaugurated a JD(U) orientation programme for newly elected MLAs and MLCs on legislative duties and procedures.
JD(U) leaders highlighted constituency outreach, public-service delivery and the party’s future leadership during the programme.
