Nunna Families Seek House-Site Pattas After Five Decades

Nunna Families Seek House-Site Pattas After Five Decades

More than 500 families in Nunna want official papers for the land where their homes stand.

Many have waited for decades.

Most residents belong to SC, ST or BC communities.

They live in huts or temporary homes because they do not have pattas or building permissions.

The land is described as tank poramboke, and authorities cite Supreme Court guidelines about it.

Residents say a government order may allow eligible families to receive pattas on certain government land.

A Revenue department survey recently assessed who might qualify, but officials have taken conflicting positions.

The families have asked MLA Yarlagadda Venkat Rao to help.

They say pattas would let them get permission to build permanent homes.
