11 Urban Bodies Booked for Polluting Rivers
Some cities in Karnataka, India, have been in trouble because they've been letting dirty water from homes go into rivers without cleaning it first.
The government has taken legal action against 11 of these cities.
The rivers affected include the Cauvery, Kabini, Arkavathi, Tungabhadra, and Bhadra.
The government is also checking the water quality regularly and telling these cities to fix the problem.
There are 30 cities near rivers, and while they make a lot of dirty water, they don't have enough places to clean it all.
The minister also talked about jobs at the Mysuru Zoo, saying they want to hire more people but are waiting for some decisions.
Criminal cases filed against 11 urban local bodies for discharging untreated sewage into rivers.
Affected rivers include Cauvery, Kabini, Arkavathi, Tungabhadra, and Bhadra.
30 local bodies along 12 rivers generate 814 MLD of domestic wastewater, with treatment capacity for only 614 MLD.
Regular water quality monitoring is being conducted, and local bodies are directed to improve sewage treatment.
Mysuru Zoo has 139 sanctioned posts, with recruitment delayed due to internal reservation and court verdicts.
