Allahabad High Court Upholds Cancellation of Ration Dealer's Licence
The Allahabad High Court recently decided to keep the licence of a ration shop dealer in Ghaziabad cancelled.
The dealer was accused of using just three Aadhaar card numbers to take out ration meant for 697 different people.
The court said the dealer didn't give a good reason for this and didn't prove that the 162 people who signed forms saying they got their ration were the same ones whose ration was taken.
The court also said there wasn't enough proof to show that government officials did anything wrong.
The dealer had tried to fight the cancellation, but the court didn't agree with her.
The Allahabad High Court upheld the cancellation of a Ghaziabad fair price shop dealer's licence for alleged ration fraud.
The dealer was accused of using three Aadhaar cards to withdraw ration for 697 cardholders.
The court found no reasonable explanation for the use of three Aadhaar cards and doubted the authenticity of 162 affidavits.
The dealer's appeal was dismissed, and the court found no evidence of mala fides against state officials.
