Tiger Activity Surges in Indore Forest Division
During a big survey called AITE 2026, people found 20 signs of tigers in the Indore Forest Division on just the first day.
This is a lot more than the 10 signs they found in the whole 2022 survey.
The most tiger signs were found in a place called Choral.
Officials think this means tigers are now living in these forests more regularly, not just visiting.
They are using special cameras and other methods to study the tigers and protect the forests.
The survey will help them make plans to keep tigers safe and help people and tigers live together peacefully.
20 tiger signs recorded in Indore Forest Division on the first day of AITE 2026 survey, up from 10 signs in the entire 2022 survey.
Choral range recorded the highest tiger activity with 18 signs, followed by Mhow with 2 and Indore with 1.
Survey suggests tigers are now using the forests more regularly, indicating potential long-term habitation.
Camera traps and field surveys are being conducted to ensure accurate data and forest protection.
Madhya Pradesh's tiger population has grown from 526 in 2018 to 785 in 2022, with 237 tigers outside protected areas.
