Chahal criticises flat pitches after West Indies’ record chase
India scored 249 runs in the second T20 match against West Indies.
West Indies reached that score with nine balls still left, winning by six wickets.
Shai Hope scored 102 runs without getting out, and Sherfane Rutherford scored 84.
The win made the five-match series even at one win each.
Yuzvendra Chahal said the pitch and conditions made it very hard for bowlers.
He pointed to dew, small grounds and the ball coming onto the bat well.
He said pitches should offer bowlers some help, or batting can become too easy.
West Indies chased India’s 249/5 in 18.3 overs, winning the second T20I by six wickets.
The victory levelled the five-match series at 1-1.
Captain Shai Hope scored an unbeaten 102 from 45 balls, while Sherfane Rutherford made 84 from 37.
India’s leading scorers included Sanju Samson with 82, Ishan Kishan with 43, Shreyas Iyer with 40 and Tilak Varma with 44.
Yuzvendra Chahal criticised the flat pitches, dew and small grounds, saying they leave bowlers with little help.
