Maharashtra Political Tensions and Reconciliation
In Maharashtra, the leader of the BJP, Ravindra Chavan, and a Shiv Sena MP named Shrikant Shinde shook hands at an event.
This happened after there was a lot of tension between their parties during the recent local elections.
The BJP had taken in some Shiv Sena members, and there were accusations of trying to influence voters.
After the elections, there are signs that both sides might be trying to make peace.
The handshake was seen as a possible first step in fixing their relationship.
Meanwhile, within the Shiv Sena party, there is a big argument between two leaders, Sanjay Shirsat and Rajendra Janjal.
They are accusing each other of doing wrong things, and this fight is making the party look bad.
The party is trying to bring in new members, but it's not going well, and there are rumors that one of the leaders might join the BJP.
Maharashtra BJP chief Ravindra Chavan and Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde exchanged a formal handshake at an event on December 6, signaling a potential reconciliation bid after weeks of hostility during the municipal council elections.
Tensions escalated when the BJP inducted local Shiv Sena functionaries in Kalyan, a move seen as an attempt to weaken Shiv Sena's hold.
Shiv Sena MLA Nilesh Rane publicly accused Chavan of trying to distribute money to influence voters in Sindhudurg.
After the elections, there are hints that the leadership might be working towards reconciliation.
Within Shiv Sena, a rift has widened between State minister Sanjay Shirsat and District president Rajendra Janjal, with both openly alleging wrongdoing by the other, and rumors circulating that Janjal might join the BJP.
