SVU PG Admissions Decline in 2025
Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupati is having a tough time getting students to join their postgraduate programs.
This year, only 939 out of 2,314 seats were filled, which is even lower than last year.
The university thinks this is happening because students want courses that help them get jobs, and SVU's programs aren't keeping up with what students and industries need.
They also blame a new system that lets students apply to many universities at once, making it harder for SVU to attract students.
The university is trying to fix their courses and hire better teachers, but it might take a few years to see any improvement.
Some programs, like History and Tamil, didn't get any students at all, which is very worrying for the university.
SVU's 2025 PG admissions drop to 939 seats filled from 2,314 offered, lower than last year's 978.
Decline attributed to students preferring job-oriented programs and outdated course structures.
Shift to state-wide PG CET reduces SVU's traditional student catchment area.
University is updating course structures and adding electives to improve relevance.
Distance education enrollment also drops significantly to around 1,200 students.
