Pune Police File FIR Against 15 MPSC Protest Representatives

Police in Pune have filed a case against 15 representatives of students preparing for MPSC exams.

The students had planned a protest for October 2, and police had first approved it with conditions.

After a meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the students reportedly said they would suspend the protest because their demands had been accepted.

They then told police, and the permission was cancelled.

Police allege that a gathering nevertheless took place on Shastri Road on October 1.

The complaint says the gathering blocked traffic and continued after officers asked people to leave.

The students’ agitation is about alleged irregularities and a demand to remove MPSC chairman Vivek Bhimanwar.

NCP (SP) leader Rohit Pawar has asked police to allow the protest to continue at S M Joshi Bridge.
