Indian Market Declines Amid IT Sector Selloff and Visa Concerns
The Indian stock market went down on Monday.
This was due to concerns about a new fee for H-1B visas in the US, which IT companies use, which made IT stocks drop.
Even though the market started down, it improved a bit because of some positive local economic news.
The Indian government is also talking with the US about a trade deal, hoping to make it easier to trade between the two countries.
Talks are ongoing with high expectations of a deal.
Indian benchmark indices closed lower on September 22.
IT stocks tumbled due to US announcement of a $100,000 fee for new H-1B visas.
Sensex closed down 0.56%, while Nifty fell 0.49%.
US and India are negotiating a Bilateral Trade Agreement.
Positive discussions were held on various aspects of the trade deal.
