Sonal Dinusha to lead SLC XI in warm-up against India
Two cricket teams are getting ready to play a big series.
The Indian cricket team has arrived in Sri Lanka for a practice match before their Test series begins.
A young player named Sonal Dinusha will be the captain of the Sri Lankan practice team for this match.
The match will last for three days instead of just one day.
It will be played in Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka.
India's team is led by a player named Shubman Gill.
Some Indian players, like Ravindra Jadeja, will use this match to get back into playing shape.
Some new players will also get a chance to show what they can do.
After this practice match, the two countries will play a two-match Test series starting in Galle on August 15.
Young bowling all-rounder Sonal Dinusha has been named captain of a 15-member SLC XI squad for a three-day warm-up match against India at the NCC Grounds in Colombo.
The match, starting Friday at 10am local time, is India's lone warm-up fixture before a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in Galle beginning August 15.
The SLC XI includes seven Test team contenders, among them Lahiru Kumara, Vishwa Fernando, Ramesh Mendis, Nishan Madushka, Pavan Rathnayake and Anjala Bandara.
India's Ravindra Jadeja is expected to make his first competitive outing since IPL 2026, while uncapped players Saransh Jain and Auqib Nabi are set to get game time.
Top-order batter Sai Sudharsan is a doubtful starter due to a foot injury and is rehabbing at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, with Devdutt Padikkal a possible replacement at number three.
