India's Forex Reserves Rise on Gold Surge

India's Forex Reserves Rise on Gold Surge

India's money saved in foreign currencies, called forex reserves, went up by $1.033 billion to $687.26 billion.

This happened because the value of the gold they have in their reserves increased by $1.188 billion.

However, the money they have in other foreign currencies went down by $151 million.

The country's foreign exchange reserves are close to their all-time high of $704.89 billion, which was reached in September 2024.

The RBI, which manages this money, says that India has enough reserves to cover more than 11 months of imports.

The Indian rupee has been getting weaker, but the RBI is confident it can handle this.
